Systech offers responsive, high quality managed services to support the delivery of complex and challenging projects, globally. We are the leading provider of project controls, commercial management, claims, expert witness, dispute resolution and legal services on construction, infrastructure, and energy projects.

Throughout our 30 year history, our team of professionals has been providing services over the full lifespan of projects – from bid to handover – across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Americas, and our appointments include project controls on government infrastructure programmes.

Our fee income is equally derived from owner and contractor organisations, giving us a unique understanding of the drivers and requirements for each party. Our experience with contractors enables us to offer a “poacher turns gamekeeper” approach when advising clients on how to best protect their interests.

We adopt a creative approach and embrace the use of new technology through the development of innovative apps, delay analysis software and visual communications tools to support the management of projects and the avoidance/resolution of claims and disputes.

The role

We are seeking a Project Controls Director to develop and lead our project controls function. The individual will be based in Australia (NSW or VIC), which is where our initial focus for the role will be. If successful, the individual will travel internationally to develop the service in Canada and then globally.

You will maintain, manage and enhance our integrated project controls service, a best-in-class cost engineering, cost management, planning/scheduling, risk management, contract administration and information management delivery offering.

You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient alignment of people/process/technology, work winning, staff upskilling, as well as overseeing and leading assignment delivery.

You will support our cross-regional and coordinated services delivery philosophy, working closely with senior management and service specialists on the implementation of initiatives for expanding joint assignments and training.

This is a key new role in the business and the individual will help establish our future strategy for project controls and be responsible for the delivery of the associated objectives with regular reporting to the Board.

Who are you

You are an experienced Project Controls Director/Lead with a minimum of 15 years of post-graduate experience, seeking a global role with a leading consultancy.

It is important that you have previous leadership experience working directly for client organisations or via a consultancy on major infrastructure schemes (USD10bn+), implementing systems, managing teams, and delivering training and seminars.

We are looking for someone who is experienced, hardworking, consultative, ambitious, and prepared to travel.
